Job summary

Homes of Hope, Inc. is seeking a Controller to lead day-to-day accounting operations, oversee the general ledger, and manage monthly closes. You will prepare financial statements, coordinate audits, and strengthen internal controls within the Finance Department.

The role requires 4+ years of accounting experience, proficiency with QuickBooks Online and Excel, and a strong understanding of GAAP. This is a nonprofit environment with comprehensive benefits and a focus on stewardship.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 4+ years of progressively responsible accounting experience, including month-end close and GL accounting.
• Proficiency with QuickBooks Online and Excel/Office 365.
• Strong GAAP knowledge, reconciliation, and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Steward the accuracy and integrity of the general ledger across applicable entities.
• Prepare monthly financial statements, management reports, and initial variance analysis.
• Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, deposits, and vendor records.
• Develop, document, and improve accounting procedures and recurring finance processes.
• Directly supervise the Staff Accountant and provide coaching and development.
