Job summary

City Harvest, New York's leading food rescue nonprofit, is seeking a Financial Analyst to oversee grant accounting, donor reporting, and budget management.

Under supervision of the Finance Manager, you will prepare donor reports, assist audits, maintain budget tools (BERTA, ADP), and ensure accurate financial statements. Excellent Excel skills and nonprofit experience are preferred; join a mission-driven team improving community nutrition.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or quantitative field.
• 1-3 years of work experience.
• Familiarity with general accounting and donor reporting.
• Understanding of government and donor rules for nonprofit reporting is preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal and teamwork abilities.
• Advanced Excel and budget software experience.
• Strong quantitative and analytical skills; high attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Draft and finalize donor financial reports.
• Prepare donor reports using Great Plains and templates.
• Identify issues and track errors.
• Ensure compliance with donor reporting requirements.
• Assist audits by providing schedules and timesheets.
• Collaborate on invoices with Accounting and External Relations.
• Maintain budget software (BERTA) reports and user access.
• Maintain ADP staff allocations and HR cost centers.
• Support annual budget and reforecast preparation.
• Manage restricted grants tracker and attend cross‑functional meetings.
• Publish internal final reports to Finance site.
• Other duties as assigned.
