Job summary

FUSION in the United States is seeking a seasoned Financial Accountant to manage full-cycle bookkeeping and support nonprofit financial reporting. You will oversee accounts payable and receivable, assist in budgeting, and coordinate with our CPA firm to ensure compliance with GAAP and nonprofit standards.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance and at least five years of accounting management experience, including P&L responsibility.

Qualifications

• Education in Accounting or Finance is required.
• At least 5 years in an accounting management role with P&L responsibility.
• Familiarity with nonprofit accounting principles and practices.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for internal and external stakeholders.
• Maintain the general ledger, reconcile accounts, and record journal entries.
• Assist in annual budgeting and analyze variances.
• Manage grant accounting, tracking funds and reporting to funders.
• Process payables, invoices, and card reconciliations; manage receivables and deposits.
• Support external audit and IRS Form 990 preparation; ensure GAAP/FASB compliance.
• Process payroll and related journal entries in collaboration with HR.
• Identify opportunities to improve financial policies and internal controls.
