The role emphasizes implementing current financial technology, collaborating with bookkeepers and HR, and ensuring compliance and timely reporting for multiple client organizations. Experience with nonprofit accounting is essential.

Qualifications

• Experience overseeing accounting operations for multiple nonprofit organizations in a firm, outsourced, or multi‑client setting.
• Ability to modernize processes, improve workflows, and implement or optimize financial systems.
• Experience with nonprofit accounting, grant tracking, and donor reporting.
• Comfortable collaborating cross‑functionally with bookkeepers, HR, and client leadership.
• Data conversion or system migration experience.
• This role does not require CPA or audit backgrounds.

Responsibilities

• Oversee financial operations and improve workflows tailored to nonprofit clients.
• Lead modernization of accounting processes and adoption of financial technology.
• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable and vendor/customer communications.
• Ensure strong cash flow management and fund tracking.
• Support credit card management, coding, compliance, and payments.
• Coordinate invoice payments, coding updates, and reconciliations with bookkeepers.
• Maintain grant reporting schedules and track grant fund allocations.
• Monitor donor statements and receipt issuance.
• Coordinate payroll timing, payroll tax selections, and HR liaison activities.
• Support external audit coordination with documentation and context.
