Job summary

Booker T. Washington Community Service Center (BTWCSC) seeks a Finance Controller to lead financial operations, accounting, reporting, budgeting, and internal controls for a nonprofit serving San Francisco.

The successful candidate will have hands-on nonprofit accounting experience, strong leadership, and the ability to partner with executive leadership to ensure sustainable growth and compliance with US GAAP and donor requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting; CPA or MBA preferred.
• Minimum 6 years of nonprofit accounting, fund accounting, and audit experience.
• Experience managing nonprofit government contracts and private grants, including budgeting and reporting.
• Strong knowledge of nonprofit GAAP, reporting, internal controls.
• Leadership experience supervising finance staff.

Responsibilities

• Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting and compliance.
• Oversee government and foundation grants and donor funding.
• Lead annual budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning.
• Coordinate annual audits and tax filings.
• Supervise finance and accounting staff.
