Job summary

RSF Social Finance is seeking a full-time Controller to oversee the Accounting Department, reporting to the CFO. The role ensures accurate, timely financial reporting for RSF and related entities, maintains internal controls, and leads a team of accounting professionals in a nonprofit IRS 501(c)(3) environment.

The candidate will manage budgets, cash flow, and quarterly/yearly reporting, while coordinating with auditors and management to meet regulatory and organizational needs.

Qualifications

• CPA certification required with GAAP expertise.
• Ten years of accounting experience in a financial institution with at least five years in a supervisory role.
• Experience with nonprofit accounting and reporting standards.
• Strong communication and analytical skills; detail-oriented and methodical.

Responsibilities

• Ensure internal controls are adequate.
• Respond to inquiries by audit committee and external auditors.
• Support investments and cash management.
• Develop and monitor budgets; supervise accounting team operations.
• Produce monthly financial information for Board and management.
• Design and record internal control systems; coordinate with auditors.
• Prepare operating budgets for RSF departments; ensure proper recording.
• Support cash-flow management across group companies.
