Job summary

The Arc of Central Alabama is seeking a Development Operations Specialist to support donor engagement, events, and communications within the Development Department. You will collaborate closely with the Vice President of Development to strengthen donor relations and streamline day-to-day operations.

The role combines development operations, donor stewardship, and board support, requiring strong organization, communication, and project management skills, with occasional evening and weekend events.

Qualifications

• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines, calendars, and priorities simultaneously.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Commitment to accuracy and confidentiality when handling donor information.
• Experience with donor databases, spreadsheets, scheduling systems, and related software.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
• Experience with Canva and donor management platforms is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with maintaining the organization’s donor database, ensuring donor records, gifts, contact information, and interactions are entered accurately.
• Process and track donations and assist with maintaining gift records, ensuring acknowledgments are prepared timely.
• Coordinate donor lists, mailing lists, reports, and other fundraising and stewardship information.
• Support Board and Junior Board activities, including meetings, travel, and recordkeeping.
• Assist with event planning, logistics, and donor engagement activities.
• Help cultivate relationships with businesses and community partners.
• Maintain organized records and calendars for the Development Department.
