Job summary

Goodman Community Center is seeking a Controller to provide strategic financial leadership and hands-on management of accounting, budgeting, reporting, payroll, audits, and compliance. This on-site role partners with leaders to ensure strong internal controls, accurate financial info, and sustainable growth for GCC and its subsidiaries.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in nonprofit finance, a Wisconsin CPA, and proven leadership overseeing finance staff, with expertise in GAAP, grants, and

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Wisconsin CPA license or willingness to attain within 3 years.
• 5+ years progressive accounting and finance experience.
• Strong knowledge of nonprofit accounting, fund accounting, grants, audits, and reporting.
• Experience with U.S. GAAP and staff supervision.

Responsibilities

• Lead accounting operations and month-end close processes.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements per U.S. GAAP.
• Develop and manage budgets; support long-term planning.
• Strengthen internal controls and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Coordinate audits and IRS Form 990; manage payroll and treasury.
