Job summary

Your Part-Time Controller, LLC (YPTC) is a leading nonprofit-focused accounting firm expanding in Denver. We seek a dedicated Controller to guide client accounting, oversee financial reporting, and implement internal controls.

The role supports multiple nonprofit clients, working remotely and on-site as needed. Starting salary ranges from $100,000 to $125,000 annually for a 35-hour work week, with overtime eligibility and bonus potential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance is required.
• 5–7+ years of accounting experience.
• Experience in a remote environment preferred.
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
• Experience with QuickBooks and electronic bill pay systems.
• Nonprofit accounting, public accounting, and/or consulting experience is a plus.
• CPA certification is a plus.
• Bilingual English/Spanish a plus.

Responsibilities

• Transform nonprofit client financial departments to help them meet their mission.
• Financial reporting for management and Board decision making and presentations.
• Recommending and implementing improvements to accounting, operations, internal controls, and compliance policies.
• Transactional activities including accounts payable, accounts receivable (revenue recognition and billing), payroll, general accounting, reconciliations, month-end close, and maintaining workpapers.
• Analysis and data visualization, budgeting and forecasting.
• Grant management, allocations, and funder reporting.
• Prepare for and manage annual audit.
• Client and staff training opportunities.

Skills

Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Fin

5-7+ years accounting experience

Remote environment experience

Microsoft Excel

Experience with QuickBooks

Nonprofit/public accounting experience

CPA certification a plus

Bilingual English/Spanish a plus
