Job summary

CLA is seeking a qualified Controller to join the CAAS practice in Minnesota, serving nonprofit clients from one of several northern MN office locations. The role focuses on internal controls, budgeting, cash management, and financial reporting, with a client-facing element and collaboration across CLA family members.

Ideal candidates have 7 years of nonprofit accounting experience, CPA preferred, and strong Excel/QuickBooks skills. Hybrid work environment and travel to client sites may occur.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; CPA preferred but not required.
• 7 years of nonprofit accounting experience; back-office accounting valued.
• Proficiency with accounting software; QuickBooks preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop internal controls and policies for budgeting, cash, and accounting.
• Direct financial planning, budgeting, procurements, and investment activities.
• Prepare financial statements and reports for regulatory agencies.
• Monitor KPIs and advise management on financial objectives.
• Coordinate with boards, bankers and investors; potential board prep.
