Job summary

CLA is seeking a Controller with nonprofit experience to join our CAAS practice in Minneapolis, MN. You will develop internal control policies, oversee budgeting, and prepare financial statements and regulatory reports.

This hybrid role involves coordinating with boards, investors, and CLA colleagues while guiding accounting staff and improving processes.

Requirements include a Bachelor’s degree, 7 years of accounting/financial experience, CPA preferred, and proficiency with QuickBooks and Excel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; CPA preferred but not required.
• 7 years of relevant accounting/financial experience; nonprofit experience preferred.
• Experience with accounting software and systems; QuickBooks experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop internal control policies and procedures.
• Coordinate budgeting, procurement, and investment activities.
• Prepare financial information and statements for regulatory reporting.
• Monitor KPIs and staff performance; advise on financial objectives.
• Communicate with boards, bankers, and investors; prepare board materials.
