Job summary

Kheir Clinic in Southern California is seeking a professional to lead its accounting and financial reporting functions as Controller. You will manage cash, AP/AR, payroll, and grant administration, working closely with the CEO and CFO to ensure accurate audits and compliant controls.

This role requires a BA in accounting/finance with 8–10 years of nonprofit accounting experience, GAAP knowledge, and strong Excel skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; Masters or CPA/CMA preferred.
• 8–10 years of hands-on accounting experience in AP/AR/GL.
• Experience in Federally Qualified Health Center or nonprofit settings preferred.
• GAAP knowledge and government/nonprofit accounting experience.

Responsibilities

• Oversee general accounting, financial reporting, cash management and payroll.
• Supervise month-end close and prepare monthly financial statements.
• Present reports to the Board Finance Committee as requested.
• Coordinate audits and ensure internal controls and compliance.
• Manage grant awards, budgets, and regulatory reporting.
