Job summary

Kheir Clinic in Los Angeles seeks an experienced Controller to lead accounting, financial reporting, payroll and grant management. You will ensure GAAP compliance, coordinate audits, supervise staff and work with executive leadership to maintain strong internal controls and accurate budgeting.

The role requires deep nonprofit accounting knowledge, strong Excel skills and proven supervisory abilities to drive financial accuracy and compliance across programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field; Masters or CPA highly desired.
• 8–10 years of hands-on accounting experience in AP/AR/GL for nonprofit/healthcare settings preferred.
• GAAP knowledge and familiarity with government/non-profit accounting and OMB circulars.

Responsibilities

• Oversee general accounting, financial reporting, cash management and payroll.
• Supervise month-end close and prepare monthly financial statements and reports.
• Present financial reports to Board Finance Committee and CFO.
• Monitor grant awards, budgets, and reimbursement procedures for funders.
• Coordinate audits, ensure internal controls and compliance with policies.
