Job summary

Food Lifeline is seeking a Controller to lead and strengthen its accounting operations in a hybrid Seattle setting. You will manage monthly and annual closes, audits, and grant reporting, while overseeing payroll, A/P, A/R, and grants accounting.

This senior role partners with the CFO to improve internal controls, refine processes, and deliver reliable financial information across the organization. Strong nonprofit accounting experience is required.

Qualifications

• Experience leading nonprofit accounting operations.
• Strong knowledge of federal grants and Uniform Guidance.
• Experience with Single Audit and grant reporting.
• Proven ability to strengthen internal controls and close processes.

Responsibilities

• Lead the monthly and annual close, financial audits, and grant reporting.
• Oversee payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and grants accounting.
• Report to the CFO and strengthen accounting systems and controls.
• Mentor the accounting team and drive cross‑functional collaboration.
• Ensure timely, accurate, and audit‑ready financial information.
