Job summary

TheASPTeam in Portland, OR is seeking a hybrid Controller to lead our nonprofit client's finance function. The role reports to a CFO and supervises a team of Staff, AP and AR accountants, with two in-office days per week.

You will manage month-end close, coordinate external audits, document processes, and drive operational efficiencies while maintaining strong internal controls in a high-volume environment.

Qualifications

• BA/BS in Accounting, Finance or related field required.
• Experience with nonprofit accounting and grants.
• Solid GAAP knowledge.
• Excellent written and verbal communication and collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Oversees the month-end close and production of financial statements.
• Act as the point of contact for external auditors.
• Manage and mentor a team of accountants (Staff, AP and AR).
• Set up/document processes and procedures and create efficiencies.
• High volume accounting operations.
• Be a problem solver and skilled in systems integration.
• Maintain internal controls.
