Job summary

Scion Nonprofit Staffing has been engaged to conduct a search for a Controller for a well-established nonprofit organization in Clear Lake, Iowa. This full-time, direct-hire role offers a hybrid schedule with three days onsite and two days remote, reporting to the CFO.

The successful candidate will oversee daily accounting operations, lead close processes, manage audits, and guide budgeting and strategic financial planning for a mission-driven organization that supports individuals with

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience leading accounting teams and close processes.
• Experience with GAAP and nonprofit accounting standards.
• Ability to partner with CFO on budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily accounting operations including GL, AP/AR, payroll, fixed assets, cash management, and reporting.
• Lead month-end and year-end closes in line with GAAP and nonprofit standards.
• Coordinate external audits and maintain internal controls.
• Oversee revenue recognition, grant accounting, and restricted funds.
