Job summary

CLA is seeking a Controller with nonprofit experience to join our CAAS team in Minnesota. Based in Saint Cloud, Monticello, Alexandria, or Brainerd, you will lead internal controls, budgeting, and financial reporting for nonprofit clients in a hybrid environment.

You will advise management on financial strategy, coordinate with boards and investors, and supervise accounting staff to meet regulatory and GAAP standards, while delivering tailored client service.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; CPA preferred but not required.
• 7 years of nonprofit accounting/financial experience requested.
• Experience with budgeting, financial statements, and GAAP is essential.
• QuickBooks experience preferred; strong Excel skills expected.

Responsibilities

• Develop internal control policies and procedures for budgeting and cash management.
• Coordinate financial planning, budgeting, procurements, and investment activities.
• Prepare financial statements and regulatory reports; monitor KPI and staff performance.
• Advise management on financial objectives and host board presentations as needed.
