Job summary

IDEA (Islamic Development & Empowerment in America) seeks a visionary Chief Financial Officer to lead our finance organization toward compliance, planning, and strategic grant management. Reporting to the CEO, the CFO will guide accounting, budgeting, treasury, and stakeholder reporting.

This executive role requires deep nonprofit accounting expertise, 7+ years in senior financial leadership, CPA preferred, and willingness to travel to support programs.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree in accounting or finance; CPA preferred.
• 7+ years in senior financial leadership, nonprofit preferred.
• Travel as needed to support organizational activities.
• Significant experience in nonprofit fund and grant accounting and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Oversee financial health, controllership, planning, and grant management.
• Lead treasury, budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow for programs and administration.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local requirements through governance and reporting.
• Enhance financial systems, processes, and controls; provide strategic insights to CEO and board.
• Represent IDEA to financial partners, auditors, and regulators; coordinate with program teams.
