Responsibilities

  • Assists on contract budgets preparation, budget modifications, and closeout.
  • Prepares monthly/quarterly vouchers to government funders and liaises on invoice revisions.
  • Assists on monthly contract and program budget reports.
  • Assists with grant budgets, modifications, and grant reports.
  • Reviews general ledger for proper recording and allocation of expenses.
  • Keeps track of contract receivables, refundable advances, and restricted revenues.
  • Maintains master contract/grant lists and program budgets.
  • Prepares financial reports to support operations and senior management decisions.
  • Assists with funder audits and annual year-end audits.

Communilife Inc. is looking for an experienced Non‑profit Finance professional to join its team. Under the supervision of the VP of FPNA, the Junior Financial Analyst is responsible for managing government contracts (Federal, New York State and New York City) and other grants in the portfolio; assisting on preparing a variety of reports, analyses and reconciliations, and assisting on other financial planning and analysis work as needed. The position requires working closely with other FPNA team members and frequent interaction with other finance teams and departments.

Essential Duties
  • Assists on contract budgets preparation, budget modifications, contract amendments, contract closeout, and other contract management matters
  • Prepares and submits monthly or quarterly vouchers to government funders, works with funding agencies on invoice revision, approval and payment disbursement as needed
  • Assists on monthly contract and program budget reports preparation
  • Assists on grant budget and budget modification, and grant reports.
  • Reviews general ledger to ensure proper recording and allocation of the expense for each contract, grant and program. Collaborates with Finance and Programs to make necessary adjustments as needed.
  • Works with Finance to ensure proper recording of contract and grant revenue and other program income under the supervision of VP of FPNA
  • Keeps tracking and reconciles contract receivables, refundable advances, and temporary restricted revenues under the supervision of VP of FPNA
  • Maintains master contract and grant list and master program budget under the supervision of the VP of FPNA
  • Under the direction of VP of FPNA, prepares a variety of financial reports and analysis to support program operation and senior management decision making
  • Assists with funder audits and annual year‑end audit under the supervision of VP of FPNA
Qualifications

Applicant must have a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance or a relevant field combined with experience. Experience in federal, New York State and New York City grants/contracts administration is preferred.
