Job summary

CLA is seeking an Assistant Controller for our Nonprofit Accounting and Advisory Service (CAAS) in Massachusetts. You will manage client accounting functions, prepare financial statements, and advise nonprofit clients while coordinating multiple engagements.

Ideal candidates have at least six years of accounting experience, nonprofit experience preferred, and a bachelor's degree. Strong GAAP knowledge and proficiency with QuickBooks, Intacct, and other major systems are required.

Qualifications

• Six years of relevant accounting experience required.
• Nonprofit industry experience strongly preferred.
• Bachelor's degree required; combination of experience and training may be considered.
• Strong working knowledge of GAAP.
• Proficiency with major accounting software listed above.

Responsibilities

• Perform Assistant Controller functions for multiple nonprofit clients.
• Act as consultant on accounting and finance best practices.
• Manage projects, work streams, and deadlines across engagements.
• Prepare and analyze client financial statements and recommendations.
• Foster opportunities for clients and communities.
