Job summary

CFS in Atlanta is seeking an experienced Accountant to support charitable financial operations and reporting. You’ll manage general ledger entries, month-end closes, and cross-entity accounting with a focus on nonprofit fund accounting and investment activity.

The role offers a hybrid work schedule (3 in-office days, 2 remote) and a comprehensive benefits package, including employer-paid health coverage, life and disability insurance, and a strong retirement plan.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required.
• 5+ years progressive accounting experience.
• Strong general ledger, reconciliations, and financial reporting skills.
• Understanding of fund/investment accounting, consolidations, or corporate accounting.
• Advanced Excel and experience with ERP/accounting systems.
• Nonprofit accounting experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare journal entries, accruals, allocations, payroll entries, and other GL transactions.
• Perform bank and account reconciliations and support monthly, quarterly, and annual closes.
• Assist with financial reporting, audit preparation, tax support, and related schedules.
• Maintain accounting records for affiliated entities and investment activities.
• Calculate management fees, interest income, and investment-related adjustments.
• Support process improvements and automation initiatives to drive efficiency.
