Job summary

The California Community Foundation (CCF) in Los Angeles seeks an Accountant to support accounts payable and receivable and other accounting duties for the foundation's operations.

Key duties include processing invoices and payments, coding transactions, maintaining ledgers, preparing journal entries and annual tax reports, and assisting with audits, CRT/CGA, and grant-related accounting.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of three years’ experience in Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and general accounting functions.
  • Experience in a non-profit environment is preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Mastery of the Microsoft Office software suite; working knowledge of Financial Edge and Raiser's Edge a plus.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail; ability to prioritize and handle multiple demands.
  • Ability to work well as a team member and independently.

Responsibilities

  • Process accounts payable for operating invoices, subsidiaries and fund expenses.
  • Input coding of vendor transactions and analyze general ledger accounts monthly.
  • Prepare monthly journal entries and accruals; process wire transactions.
  • Record and monitor fund balance transfers and 1099 forms for independent contractors.
  • Prepare weekly contribution reports and departmentals actual vs budget reports.
  • Assist with audits and year-end financial statements.
  • Maintain petty cash and assist with donor inquiries.
