Job summary

The California Community Foundation (CCF) in Los Angeles is hiring a Senior Accounting Analyst who will prepare and analyze our financial statements, review investment activity, and manage fund operations. The role reports to the Vice President of Finance and involves cross-functional collaboration across departments.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in accounting or finance, a bachelor’s degree in accounting, and CPA is strongly preferred (CFA a plus).

Qualifications

• 5+ years experience in accounting or finance
• Experience in accounting, internal controls, budgeting, investments, information systems, nonprofit sector preferred
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field required; Master’s preferred
• CPA strongly preferred; CFA a plus
• Excellent communication skills and technology proficiency with MS Office; Blackbaud experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Prepare financial statements and reports for leadership and Board
• Assist with complex transaction review and posting; implement new accounting standards
• Lead investment portfolio management automation and administer accounts
• Assist Form 990 and 990-T tax return preparation; analyze partnership income and UBIT
• Design, document, and monitor internal control procedures
• Support key donor reporting and complex asset contributions and sales
• Prepare audit disclosures and schedules; assist with audits and standards updates
• Manage risk through insurance program oversight and vendor relations
• Participate in cross-departmental special projects and process improvements
• Collaborate with departments to ensure efficient operations
