Job summary

Project Harmony is seeking an experienced Accountant to join our finance team. You will prepare journal entries, manage cost allocations and ensure accuracy of financial statements for a nonprofit focused on helping child abuse victims and families.

The role collaborates with the Finance Manager, program leaders and auditors to maintain grant accounting, budgets and projections. Qualified candidates have a Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance, 3+ years of progressive accounting experience,

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance or related field.
  • 3+ years of progressive accounting experience.
  • Non-profit accounting experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare journal entries and cost allocations for posting to the general ledger to ensure financial statements are accurately presented.
  • Reconcile bank accounts monthly and perform related journal entries.
  • Process cash receipt and deposit transactions.
  • Support payroll and grant accounting processes assigned.
  • Reconcile and prepare financial support for general ledger accounts and recommend adjustments where necessary; assist in identifying trends in account activity and financial presentations.
