Job summary

Trying Together is seeking an Accountant to serve as a strategic financial partner to the Director of Administration. This full-time, hybrid role focuses on complex data analysis, braiding diverse funding streams, and ensuring fiscal health and compliance.

The ideal candidate will manage budgets, multi-stream funding, and monthly statements, while maintaining internal controls and audit-ready documentation for the organization’s nonprofit mission.

Qualifications

• Degree in accounting required; 4+ years experience may substitute for the degree.
• Five+ years of accounting experience, with nonprofit exposure preferred.
• Strong fund/accounting and grant management experience is highly valued.
• Proven ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment.

Responsibilities

• Develop an annual operating budget with leadership collaboration.
• Design cost-allocation methodologies across multiple funding streams.
• Reconcile financial data across time reporting, payroll, banking, and accounting systems.
• Perform complex financial analyses and flag trends/discrepancies.
• Ensure compliance, internal controls, and grant budgeting/reporting.
