Job summary

Volunteers of America Los Angeles is seeking an Accountant I to provide financial information by preparing reports, maintaining ledgers, and analyzing accounts and program expenditures. You will handle AP vouchers, coding expenses and charges, and participate in budget processes.

Responsibilities include monthly billing, drawdown, and ensuring internal controls meet federal, state and local requirements for funded programs. A background in non-profit finance is a plus.

Qualifications

• 3 years of Accounting/Bookkeeping experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in finance, business or accounting preferred.
• Experience with federal grant reporting and grant management is a plus.
• Experience in public or non-profit sector preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare financial reports and maintain ledgers.
• Analyze accounts and program expenditures for grants.
• Approve AP vouchers and code expenses and charges.
• Prepare monthly billing and drawdown.
• Ensure accounting controls comply with federal, state and local requirements.
