Job summary

BookPage and ProMotion, inc. seeks a full-time nonfiction editor to join our Nashville-based team. You will oversee the nonfiction content across print and digital, commissioning reviews, author interviews, and features with a focus on accuracy and audience growth.

This hybrid role requires three days in the Nashville office and two days remote. Local candidates only who can collaborate with a small editorial team and engage with readers and events.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of editorial experience in publishing, journalism, library work or related field.
• Passion for books and nonfiction genres (lifestyles, memoirs, histories).
• Excellent writing and editing skills with AP Style knowledge.
• Working knowledge of Google Suite.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills with ability to meet deadlines and juggle multiple projects.

Responsibilities

• Track upcoming books through trade publications, publicity contacts and other sources.
• Select diverse nonfiction titles for review each month.
• Coordinate with freelance reviewers and monthly columnists.
• Edit and proofread content across platforms.
• Follow a monthly production schedule.
• Adapt nonfiction content for print, digital, newsletters, and social media.
• Contribute to and participate in digital content with editorial perspective.
• Represent BookPage as a panelist or host at live or virtual events (2–4 times a year).
