Journal Communications, Inc. is seeking a full-time Photo Assistant to manage multimedia for our digital brands. You will be the main contact for asset requests and help source, traffic, and quality check visual assets across sites such as Livability.com.

Role requires an associate's degree or equivalent experience, knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, WordPress, MS Office and iOS. Hybrid schedule in the Franklin/Nashville, TN area with strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Responsabilités

• Serve as main contact for asset requests across sites like Livability.com.
• Source, traffic and quality check photography, video, illustration, and graphics.
• Support photographers with press creds, outreach, and transfers.
• Catalog assets in the DAM with accurate metadata and usage history.
• Uphold asset storage, usage guidelines and organization.
• Crop/size assets and prep for web, including WordPress uploads.
• Assist in planning shoots and building shot lists.
• Support color correction and basic video editing as needed.

We’re Journal Communications, Inc., a media company based in Franklin, Tenn., and we are seeking a full-time Photo Assistant to manage multimedia for our digital brands.

Your main responsibilities will be to:

• Become the main point of contact for asset requests for Livability.com and our other websites.
• Source, traffic and quality check visual assets, including photography, video, illustration and graphics.
• Support staff and freelance photographers through press credentials requests, photo subject outreach, image transfer, etc.
• Catalog assets within global Digital Asset Management system in an accurate, consistent and timely manner: Metadata, history usage, DAM cleanup
• Uphold asset usage, storage and organization guidelines.
• Crop, size and prepare assets for various media channels, including direct population into WordPress
• Help creative team plan and schedule photo shoots
• Build photo/video shot lists
• Color correction/image editing experience is a plus!
• Video editing experience is a big plus!

Requirements

We’re looking for someone with:

• Strong visual eye with the ability to quickly evaluate quality imagery
• Associate's degree or equivalent experience
• Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, MS Office, WordPress and the iOS platform
• Extremely well organized with good problem-solving skills
• Positive and proactive attitude and passion for the job
• Ability to work independently or collaboratively as needed
• Proven ability to work quickly and effectively with very strong attention to detail
• Understanding of file formats, metadata standards, and best asset organization practices
• Solid understanding of digital web production and emerging AI tools
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus

This position is based in the Franklin/Nashville, TN, area and will follow a hybrid schedule.
