Job summary

SA Recycling in Brownsville, TX is seeking a non-ferrous laborer to physically handle, sort, and process metals in an outdoor yard. You will inspect materials, operate yard equipment, launder uniforms, and help prepare metals for resale while maintaining a clean, safe work environment.

The role requires adherence to safety protocols, following written or verbal instructions, and the ability to learn new tasks. A HS diploma or GED is required; bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.

Qualifications

• High School diploma, GED Certification, or equivalent work experience.
• 1-year previous general labor in the scrap metal, mining, or construction industries preferred.
• Forklift/Skid Loader experience preferred.
• Bi-lingual (English and Spanish) a plus.
• Ability to carry out instructions provided in written, oral, or diagrammatic form.
• Ability to learn new tasks as assigned required.

Responsibilities

• Identify, grade, sort, and process nonferrous materials.
• Provide a safe environment for all employees, customers, and visitors.
• Perform daily inspections on equipment reporting any defects or needed repairs to supervisor.
• General labor duties that may include sweeping, shoveling and general clean-up of any area and/or equipment throughout the yard.
• Provide backup or assistance throughout the yard as needed or assigned.
• Launder uniforms.
• Comply with all applicable safety, health, and environmental rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.

SA Recycling is looking for a non-ferrous laborer whos job is to physically handle, sort, and process non-ferrous metals. This role involves tasks such as inspecting materials, operating machinery, laundering, preparing metals for resale, maintaining a clean and safe work environment, and keeping inventory records. In this role you will also handle.

This position will work outside in varying weather conditions, and SA Recycling strictly adheres to all Metals Recycling Business Health, Safety, and Environmental standards.
