Job summary

Centra Health is seeking a Medical Assistant (non-certified) to support clinicians and provide patient care in a clinic setting. The MA will assist with examinations, take vital signs, perform basic tests, and coordinate patient care under supervision.

The position requires at least 6 months to 1 year of medical experience or completion of a MA program, plus BLS certification. Prioritizing patient safety and accurate EMR documentation is essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 6 months–1 year medical experience.
• Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Eligible for Registered Apprenticeship program if limited experience.

Responsibilities

• Assists in examination and treatment of patients under the provider's direction.
• Measures vital signs and collects health histories from patients.
• Provides health promotion and counseling to patients and caregivers; explains plan of care.
• Administers medications and immunizations as directed; wound care and health interventions.
• Performs patient testing (specimens, CLIA-waved testing, blood collection, ECG).
• Maintains accurate patient records in EMR and coordinates scheduling.
