Job summary

Community Health and Dental Care, Inc. seeks a Certified Medical Assistant to perform clinical and clerical duties in collaboration with providers and care coordinators. The MA must be certified and recertified in line with certification requirements.

The role supports patient care through exam preparation, medication administration under supervision, EMR documentation, and active participation in team huddles and pre-visit planning. Prior physician office experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Medical Assistant diploma/degree from an accredited program or formal training required.
• Documentation as a certified/registered medical assistant required.
• 1–2 years physician office experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Participate in morning team huddles
• Participate in pre-visit planning activities
• Prepare exam rooms and patient for examination, treatment/procedures and assist provider
• Perform patient care procedures keeping in mind the age-specific needs of the patient
• Prepare and administer medications and immunizations, under physician supervision
• Document data collected during the patient care process via electronic or paper medical records
• Collect and process specimens for laboratory testing and complete paperwork
• Order diagnostic studies per physician request and follow up with results
• Keep inventory and process sample medications, prescriptions and refills as directed by the physician
• Maintain dignity and confidentiality of the patient
• Coordinate patient flow
• Act as a clinical preceptor
• Perform tasks as delegated by Provider in a timely manner
• Performs other duties as assigned
