JOB SUMMARY
All drivers run daily routes with frequent stops and are required to load packages onto hand trucks and unload product at each stop on the assigned route in the order designated by the Transportation Department Manager. The candidate will operate successfully in a cross-dock model, picking up a loaded truck from a nightly delivery at the assigned loading dock and returning the empty truck to the lot at the end of the route. May occasionally assist with loading trucks, palletizing products, and other duties as assigned by Supervisor or Manager.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage technical aspects, customer relations, and personnel for major programs and projects.
- Run routes efficiently, meeting or exceeding designated times.
- Unload products from trailers using hand or carts, placing them in designated storage areas, sometimes in all weather conditions.
- Lift, push, or move products weighing 1-75 pounds, up to 100 pounds, frequently reaching up to 72” for stacking and unstacking pallets.
- Verify deliveries with customers and obtain signatures.
- Contact management for invoice discrepancies and communicate errors or returns.
- Report when customers do not receive their full orders (shorts).
- Handle customer complaints professionally.
- Properly handle company equipment, follow safety rules, and perform pre-trip inspections.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip duties in accordance with DOT regulations and company policies.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education
- High School diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
Experience
- At least one year of route delivery experience or relevant driving background with a straight truck.
- Valid Commercial Driver’s License preferred.
- Ability to read and understand English.

- Operate vehicle safely in various traffic and weather conditions.

- Knowledge of product and inventory control techniques.
- Effective communication with departments regarding routing, safety, and customer relations.

OTHER INFORMATION
- Frequent lifting of products up to 50 lbs., infrequent lifting up to 80 lbs.
