Position Purpose:

This driver role involves operating a straight truck or van on local routes to deliver and unload food products, often handling urgent orders. All routes are completed safely in compliance with company policies and DOT regulations. The driver interacts professionally with customers, vendors, and co-workers, ensuring excellent service.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Perform pre-trip safety inspections per DOT regulations.
• Check items and customer invoices during loading.
• Complete all freight paperwork accurately.
• Move tractor to loading dock and attach preloaded trailer.
• Deliver orders according to route plan.
• Handle urgent deliveries using small straight trucks or vans.
• Unload products into customer storage areas.
• Perform damage checks and communicate with supervisors as needed.
• Verify deliveries with customers and obtain signatures.
• Collect payments when required.
• Manage customer returns and damaged goods.
• Complete daily hours of service logs.
• Perform post-trip vehicle checks and secure equipment.
• Maintain cleanliness of cab, dock area, and trailers.
• Secure all equipment at shift end and complete paperwork.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma/GED or equivalent
• Non-Commercial Driver's License
• At least 1 year of non-commercial driving experience
• Ability to operate straight trucks and vans in various environments
• Interest in pursuing CDL-A licensing
• Flexible schedule to meet business needs
