POSITION SUMMARY:

Safely and efficiently passengers, including but not limited to district employees, faculty and students, throughout the District, to and from schools and other district facilities in vehicles that do not require a Commercial Driver License.

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and /or ability required. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Transports students and staff safely to and from schools and other district facilities.
  • Responsible for the care of assigned vehicle (including daily pre-operation, post-operation, and periodic inspections), cleans and sweeps vehicle's interior, fuels vehicle, and reports all defects or non-operational findings.
  • Follows established procedures and schedules to pick up and deliver passengers.
  • Maintains daily mileage and logs as required.
  • Obeys all traffic laws and observes all mandatory safety regulations.
  • Successfully able to lift and maneuver 30lbs.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provides adequate supervision of students.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES AND REGISTRATION REQUIRED:

  • Must have a valid and current Arizona Driver license and ability to be adequately insured
  • Must have authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1968.
  • Ability to pass a background check and maintain a current Fingerprint Clearance Card.
  • CPR & First Aid Certification

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

  • At least three years of driving experience
  • High School diploma or equivalent;

KNOWLEDGE, SKILS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

  • Math Ability - Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
  • Reasoning Ability - Ability to interpret assortment of instructions furnished in variable forms. Ability to apply reason to research and solve moderately complex issues with little or no assistance.
  • Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.
  • Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, employee is frequently required to sit, talk, and hear. The employee occasionally will stand and walk. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms. Employee will frequently interact with the public and other staff members. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.
