Job summary

Meritas Advisory Group, LLC seeks a dedicated Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our nocturnist team in Dothan, Alabama. The selected candidate will provide overnight care to hospitalized adults, collaborating with physicians and hospital teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

The position features a 12-hour night shift (8:00 PM–8:00 AM) with inpatient qualifications preferred, and a competitive compensation and benefits package within a physician-led hospital setting.

Qualifications

• Valid NP or PA license required.
• Board certification mandatory.
• Experience in inpatient/hospitalist/acute care settings preferred.
• Strong clinical decision-making and communication skills.
• Ability to work autonomously within a physician-led team.

Responsibilities

• Perform 12-hour night shifts from 8:00 PM to 8:00 AM.
• Provide comprehensive hospital-based care to adult patients.
• Conduct patient assessments and develop treatment plans.
• Manage admissions, daily rounds, and cross-coverage duties.
• Order, interpret, and act on diagnostic tests and imaging.
• Adjust medications and treatments as needed.
• Respond to overnight changes in patient condition.
• Document and communicate patient activities clearly.
