Job summary

Nocturnist APP - Nurse Practitioner / Physician Assistant needed in Dothan, Alabama, to join our nocturnist team providing overnight care for hospitalized adults. The selected candidate will work 12-hour nights, collaborate with physicians, and support quality patient outcomes in a physician-led setting.

Qualified applicants hold a NP or PA license with board certification and have inpatient or critical care experience.

Qualifications

• Valid Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant license.
• Board certification required.
• Experience in inpatient, hospitalist, critical care, emergency or acute care settings preferred.
• Excellent clinical decision-making and communication skills.
• Ability to work autonomously within a physician-led team.

Responsibilities

• Perform 12-hour night shifts from 8:00 PM to 8:00 AM.
• Deliver hospital-based care to adult patients.
• Conduct patient assessments and develop treatment plans.
• Manage admissions, daily rounds and cross-coverage duties.
• Order and interpret diagnostics; adjust medications as needed.
• Respond to overnight changes in patient conditions promptly.
• Collaborate with doctors and leadership to improve care quality.
• Ensure timely documentation and communication of activities.
