Job summary

Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston, ME is recruiting a Board-Certified/Board-Eligible Internal Medicine or Family Medicine physician to join our Nocturnal Hospitalist team. You will provide high-quality inpatient care during overnight hours in a collaborative, patient-centered environment with a supportive APP team.

This nights role offers a manageable overnight census, robust backup, and opportunities to grow leadership within Central Maine Healthcare, with a competitive compensation

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree from an accredited program.
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine.
• Eligible for or active Maine medical license.
• Strong clinical, communication, and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive inpatient care during overnight hours.
• Admit patients from the emergency department.
• Cross-cover and manage existing hospitalized patients.
• Respond to overnight clinical changes and rapid responses.
• Collaborate with nursing staff, specialists, and care teams.
• Ensure thorough documentation and effective handoffs.
