Job summary

Central Maine Healthcare is seeking a Full-Time Hospitalist (Internal Medicine or Family Medicine) to join its inpatient care team serving the Central Maine region. This physician will provide comprehensive hospitalist coverage across three affiliated hospitals within the system.

The role focuses on high-quality inpatient care, collaboration with specialists, and efficient patient management across Central Maine Medical Center (Lewiston), Bridgton Hospital, and Rumford Hospital.

Qualifications

• MD or DO from an accredited medical school.
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine.
• Eligible for or able to obtain a Maine medical license.
• Active DEA registration.
• Strong clinical, communication, and collaborative skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide inpatient medical care including admissions, rounds, consultations, and discharges for hospitalized adults.
• Coordinate patient care with specialists, nursing, case management, and ancillary staff to ensure high-quality care.
• Collaborate with emergency department physicians regarding admissions and patient management.
• Participate in interdisciplinary rounds and discharge planning to support optimal patient outcomes.
• Maintain timely documentation within the electronic medical record system.
• Support clinical quality initiatives, patient safety programs, and system-wide protocols.
• Provide coverage across the three hospital campuses as part of an integrated hospitalist team.
