Job summary

Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston, Maine, seeks an OB Hospitalist/Nocturnist to provide in-house overnight obstetric coverage with 12-hour night shifts and 11 shifts per month. This is a strictly inpatient role focusing on labor and delivery triage, admissions, and emergencies.

Qualifications

• MD or DO, OB/GYN board certified or eligible.
• Experience in labor & delivery and obstetric emergencies.
• Excellent communication and teamwork with multidisciplinary staff.

Responsibilities

• Provide in-house overnight obstetric coverage.
• Manage labor and delivery triage, admissions, and emergencies.
• Perform vaginal deliveries and cesarean sections as needed.
• Respond to OB emergencies including fetal distress and urgent interventions.
• Collaborate with OB/GYN physicians, midwives, anesthesia, and NICU teams.
• Ensure timely documentation and adherence to clinical protocols.
• Support patient safety and quality initiatives.
