Job summary

Valero is seeking a Network Operator to support 24/7 alarm responses, incident analysis, and enterprise job control from our San Antonio, TX location. The role involves shift work that may include nights and weekends and aims to reduce toil by automating repetitive tasks.

You will work with Level 2/3 teams to document and automate procedures, maintain runbooks, and support ITIL-based service management. On-site employment with comprehensive benefits awaits.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in a Technology or Network Operations Center in a large enterprise environment.
• 2+ years of experience with first level administration and troubleshooting of Windows Servers, virtual machines, and Telecom Circuits.
• Able and willing to work on-site, in-person at the Valero San Antonio location, required.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and respond to alarms from Valero I/S infrastructure and applications.
• Open and facilitate support calls with third party providers.
• Create, monitor, and troubleshoot scheduled jobs.
• Resolve incidents independently and assist with complex incident troubleshooting and resolution.
• Execute well-documented operational tasks transitioned from Level 2/3 teams.
• Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to identify and automate repetitive tasks.
• Maintain and improve runbooks and knowledge base documentation.
• Contribute to Valero’s automation initiatives by supporting scripting, orchestration, and process improvement efforts.
• Follow ITIL based service management processes (Change, Incident, Request).
