Job summary

Valero Energy is seeking a Network Specialist for an Ethanol Plant. You will analyze, troubleshoot, and evaluate PCN problems, maintain VRF PCN and DMZ networks, and ensure security through configuration and training. This role focuses on OT network infrastructure and applying Windows-based updates.

Relocation assistance is available, and the position is salaried exempt. On-site work is required at the ethanol plant with opportunities to contribute to security KPI reporting and ongoing network

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of two years experience as a Network Specialist required; an Associate's degree may substitute for two years.
• Minimum of five years experience with computer hardware and software required.
• Minimum of five years experience with common troubleshooting tools like Command Prompt, PowerShell, Putty, Wireshark, etc. required.
• Able and willing to work on-site and in-person, required.

Responsibilities

• Analyze, troubleshoot, and evaluate computer and networking (Process Control Network) problems.
• Maintain VRF PCN and DMZ networks and ensure network security through hardware/software configuration and end-user training.
• Collect, monitor, and optimize server performance and capacity to meet online traffic demand.
• Monitor security and troubleshoot network, hardware, and software issues; perform routine maintenance.
• Deploy and maintain OT network infrastructure through Windows patching, antivirus updates, firmware updates, and app updates.
• Install network equipment and report security KPI’s.
