Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in IT or Computer Engineering or related discipline.
• 5 years of related experience in Network Infrastructure, systems engineering, or closely related fields.
• Minimum 2 years of experience as a NOC Engineer or in network operations.
• Advanced knowledge of TCP/IP, dynamic routing; Cisco/HP switches, firewalls, routers, wireless APs, NAC, AAA, Cisco ISE, Cisco DNA Center, and Linux servers.
• Experience configuring monitoring alerts on SolarWinds; proficiency with Microsoft Visio.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and manage technology system performance and proactively identify indicators to prevent outages.
• Operate AAA services (Cisco ISE) and network monitoring systems; integrate with others.
• Monitor network trends, resolve connectivity issues affecting critical systems.
• Review alerts from SolarWinds and conduct root cause analysis of complex issues.
• Perform and verify system backups and recovery using various tools.
• Maintain and validate data files and monitor network configurations for integrity.
• Collaborate to install/test new releases on network devices, perform upgrades and patches.
• Maintain switches, routers, APs, firewalls, load balancers and security appliances.
• Participate in cross-functional projects and technology integration efforts.
• Provide recommendations to improve efficiency and data-center standards.
• Plan and execute changes per current tech trends; act as on-call escalation point.
• Execute change management and maintain relationships with vendors and customers.
• Train and instruct other NOC engineers; Transit Ambassador duties as needed.
