Abel Personnel is seeking a Computer Operator II for a Richmond, VA-based client environment. The role focuses on computer operations, technical support, NOC tasks, data center activities, and systems monitoring to ensure reliable enterprise infrastructure.

The position requires a two-year technical degree or equivalent experience, 12–24 months in computer operations, and the ability to work 12-hour daytime shifts.

Qualifications

• Two-year technical college degree or comparable experience.
• 12–24 months of computer operations experience.
• Comfortable working with computers and documented procedures.
• Ability to monitor systems, recognize issues, and follow escalation steps.
• Strong attention to detail and reliability.
• Willingness to work 12-hour daytime shifts.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the daily operation of computer systems.
• Monitor enterprise infrastructure and elevate issues as required.
• Complete daily checklist tasks under supervision.
• Generate required reports and verify the validity of computer reports before release.
• Report problems to the Senior Computer Operator or supervisor.
• Respond to customer questions and follow up appropriately.
• Report incidents to senior personnel as appropriate.
• Assist with recovery activities to restore normal operations.
• Follow established escalation procedures across Computer Operations and related departments.
• Support senior computer operators as needed.
• Track and document issues using a ticketing system.
• Maintain and follow SSAE 18 audit requirements.
