Metro Associates seeks a Highway Design Engineer with 7–15 years of hands-on experience to join our transportation team in the New Jersey metro area. The role focuses on complex roadway projects across New Jersey and the New York metro region.

The ideal candidate holds a NJ PE license, excels with InRoads/OpenRoads, and has NJDOT/NJTA project exposure. A consulting background in transportation engineering is preferred.

Qualifikationen

• Professional Engineer (PE) license in New Jersey is required.
• 7–15 years of hands-on highway/roadway design experience in consulting environments.
• Strong proficiency with InRoads/OpenRoads design platforms and standards.
• Prior NJDOT/NJTA project exposure strongly preferred.
• Formal education in transportation engineering (not structural).

Aufgaben

• Lead and support highway/roadway design projects from concept through final design.
• Prepare design plans, specs, and cost estimates per NJDOT/NJTA standards.
• Utilize InRoads/OpenRoads to deliver constructible designs.
• Collaborate with PMs, engineers, CAD techs, and field staff for efficient delivery.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and designers.
• Coordinate with DOT officials, municipalities, and clients for approvals.
• Support proposal development, project scoping, and BD efforts.
