Job summary

NV5's Morristown, NJ office seeks a Senior Highway Engineer with 8–15 years of roadway/highway experience and a NJ PE license to supervise projects for NJDOT, NJTPA, and municipalities. The role emphasizes technical oversight, design development, and collaboration with a multi-disciplinary team.

Responsibilities include leading design from concept to contract plans, preparing cost estimates and quantity calculations, and contributing to professional organizations while advancing project

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering (BSCE) or equivalent.
• 8-15 years of roadway/highway engineering experience.
• Experience with MicroStation InRoads and OpenRoads.
• Knowledge of NJDOT and/or NJTPA standards.
• New Jersey PE license.

Responsibilities

• Deliver transportation and civil projects under supervision of senior staff.
• Lead roadway/highway design from conceptual design to final plans.
• Prepare quantity calculations, cost estimates, and supplementary specifications.
• Develop project management skills: budgets and schedules.
• Participate in professional organizations and technical societies.
