Job summary

Dewberry is seeking a Highway Project Engineer in Bloomfield, NJ (or Mount Laurel, NJ) to lead highway projects with NJDOT/NJTA experience. The role requires a BS in Civil Engineering, a NJ PE license, and 5+ years of highway design and project management experience, plus strong communication and client interfacing skills.

Qualifications

• BS in Civil Engineering required
• NJ PE license required
• 5+ years’ highway design and project management experience
• Experience with NJDOT/NJTA design standards and procedures
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Proficient with MS Office software

Responsibilities

• Perform all facets of highway engineering including design of horizontal and vertical geometry, utility relocations, development of maintenance and protection of traffic schemes, preparation of right of way and coordination of drainage design, traffic signals and electrical/lighting systems for a variety of project types and clients.
• Prepare contract documents including: Plans, Specifications, and Cost Estimates
• Monitor budgets and schedules
• Assist in preparation of proposals to provide professional services
