Job summary

Air Products seeks an experienced Operations Technician to join our Odessa, TX facility, operating an Air Separation Unit that produces nitrogen for medical, food, and industrial uses. You will monitor production processes, manage utility systems, compressors, rotating equipment, and DCS operations, and perform preventive maintenance as required.

This 8‑hour shift role entails rotating on‑call coverage for nights and weekends.

Qualifications

• Experience in operations, maintenance, or monitoring of industrial process plants.
• Ability to read/understand piping and instrumentation drawings.
• Electrical, instrument or mechanical maintenance experience.
• Basic computer proficiency including Word, Excel, Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance tasks and safety inspections.
• Maintain online training program requirements.
• Maintain water chemistry.
• Solve plant process upsets using indicators and DCS trends.
• Inspect work areas for hazards and maintain clean, safe conditions.
• Troubleshoot equipment and issue safety permits with LOTO.
• Ensure compliance with safety, health, environmental, and quality procedures.
• Attend monthly safety meetings and review operating procedures.
