Job summary

Alcott in Los Angeles is seeking a Resident Aide for the grave shift (Full-Time) to support the ODR Interim Housing program in South Los Angeles. This overnight role focuses on resident safety, dignity, and program operations during evening hours.

The ideal candidate will have 1+ year experience in mental health or related services, be able to stay calm under pressure, and possess a California driver’s license with a clean record. Live Scan background check is required.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of experience supporting individuals in mental health, substance use treatment, or homelessness services
• Candidates with lived experience are encouraged to apply
• If in recovery from alcohol or substances, at least 1 year of continuous sobriety
• Ability to remain calm, professional, and patient in stressful or crisis situations
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and basic database systems
• Valid California Driver’s License, clean driving record and insurability
• Live Scan background check required

Responsibilities

• Respond promptly and professionally to resident needs
• Support residents in maintaining independence with daily chores and personal care
• Assist with meal preparation, serving, and assigned program activities
• Maintain confidentiality in all resident interactions
• Conduct overnight rounds to monitor residents and facility conditions
• Ensure rooms, hallways, restrooms, and common areas remain clean, disinfected, and hazard-free
• Respond to emergencies and complete required documentation
• Complete daily logs, incident reports, and end-of-shift documentation
• Communicate updates to oncoming staff and the Program Manager
• Answer phones, take messages, and greet visitors
• Record client self-administration of prescribed medications
• Support facility services, recreation, and other activities
• Perform additional duties as assigned by the Program Manager
