Job summary

New Horizons Ranch & Center, Inc. in Goldthwaite, Texas, seeks Overnight Direct Care Staff to support children ages 5-17 during the night shift. You will provide supervision, help with bedtime routines, and maintain a safe, home-like environment.

This full-time role offers a $16/hour wage, 40 hours weekly, and benefits including health insurance for employees, paid time off, and education assistance. You will work closely with a compassionate team dedicated to helping kids heal from trauma.

Qualifications

• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• High School Diploma or GED equivalent is required.
• Pass criminal background checks, a drug screening, a tuberculosis test.
• Active Driver’s License required.
• Applicants must have insight and understanding of cultural diversity and have the ability to work with diverse populations.
• Be able to perform conflict resolution or crisis intervention.
• Applicants must possess positive verbal and written communication skills, the ability to make logical decisions in times of crisis, and work well in a team and independently.

Responsibilities

• Provide overnight direct supervision and support to a group of children.
• Plan, supervise and assist nightly activities for assigned group.
• Help with household chores as needed.
• Get children up and ready in the morning.
• Occasionally take children to school at on-campus school.
• Provide a safe, stable and home-like environment.
• Build healthy relationships with the kids in care to support them as they heal and work through their trauma.
• Maintain accurate and complete documentation.
• Complete and implement necessary trainings as required by state licensing;
• Study, practice and operate within the New Horizons' Philosophy and Employee Handbook.
