New Horizons Ranch and Center, Inc. in Goldthwaite, TX is seeking Direct Care Staff for Children to support ages 5-17. You will plan, supervise and assist daily activities, hygiene, homework, and treatment plans with a trauma-informed approach, using company-provided vans for transport.

This is a full-time role with family-friendly hours and comprehensive benefits, designed to keep kids safe and supported while they heal.

Qualifications

• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• High School Diploma or GED equivalent is required.
• Background checks, a drug screening, and a tuberculosis test are required.
• Active Driver’s License required.
• Ability to work with diverse populations and understand cultural diversity.
• Strong conflict resolution and crisis intervention skills.
• Positive verbal and written communication skills and ability to work in a team or independently.

Job description

Direct Care Staff for Children are responsible for providing direct care and support to meet the daily needs of children, ages 5-17, at New Horizons Ranch, a home for children in Goldthwaite, Texas, located 30 miles outside of Brownwood, TX.

Pay Rate: Starting at $16 an hour

Hours: 40 Hours minimum per week - More Family Friendly Hours

Type: Full-Time

Job Responsibilities

You will plan, supervise, and assist your assigned group of children with daily needs and activities. This can include helping children get ready for the day, daily hygiene, completing homework, planned recreational activities, and adhering to treatment plans created by the treatment team. You will transport children to and from school, office appointments, and recreational and social activities with company-provided vans.

Job Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To

• Providing direct supervision and support to a group of kids, many of whom are experiencing emotional trauma
• Planning, supervising and assisting with daily activities for your assigned group of children, including meals, hygiene, personal possessions and living spaces, completing homework, adhering to treatment plans created by staff, participating in school, and planned recreational activities
• Transporting children to school, office appointments, recreational and social activities with company-provided van
• Providing a safe, stable and home-like environment
• Building healthy relationships with the kids in care to support them as they heal and work through their trauma
• Maintaining accurate and complete documentation
• Completing and implementing necessary trainings as required by state licensing;
• Studying, practicing and operating within the New Horizons’ Philosophy and Employee Handbook

• Applicants must possess positive verbal and written communication skills, the ability to make logical decisions in times of crisis, and work well in a team and independently
